What longarm and pistol would you take if you were only limited to what you can carry and what you own. This would be a SHTF scenario and you are limited by what you can carry on foot.

If it is an rifle what barrel length and caliber and optic
If it is shotgun what barrel length and caliber.
If it is a pistol what caliber.

Do you have a dedicated SHTF kit. does it include armor, ammo, and provisions(food, clothing, and the like).

Started thinking about this after recently watching War of the Worlds and Red Dawn back to back.

There's probably lots of stuff on this over in the Survival Forum.

I'd grab my 16" Midlength with ELCAN optic and BUIS (which I think is an ideal multi-purpose setup), and a Colt 1911A1.

In a SHTF/TEOTWAWKI scenario, I'd stay put unless I absolutely had to move - but if I had to move I'd take my vest and SHTF backpack - which include 10 full 30-round mags and 100 extra rounds.

Plus, if you have a big freezer and a generator, you can save them and eat them later.

OMG, would you really want that rifle as your only defense?  You'd either have to wear hearing protection while using it, or you and your family would go deaf shortly.

I'd take my Bushmaster 20" A2, and Glock 22.

WASR-10. It's my only EBR.

It's a decent caliber, it holds the most ammo, I've got the most ammo stocked up for it, and it's portable enough to be usable. Plus when I run out of ammo I can stick somebody with my bayonet.

Edit: I thought we were only allowed one firearm, but since everyone else is posting a sidearm as well, it'd be my Taurus .357 Magnum.

My STD A2. I'd probably remove the Bushnell to make it a better adapted mid-shorter range rifle which is the role it would serve me(but I'd still take it with me just in case).

And my M48 for my longer range rifle or for picking off lone enemy or attacking from a good vantage point and range.

Yes, they're two rifles but they're my entire personal collection(19, NY, you do the math). Plus I can easily and comfortably sling one on my back while using the other.
