If you had the funds available for either a Barrett .50 + glass or an M16, which would you make the top priority?

If a .50 ban is enacted, they will become even more expensive in short order. On the hand, FA guns are rapidly going up in price already.

M16, and find a 50 upper

I'd go with the M16

While I love the 50s, I honestly think I'd have a lot more fun, more often, with an M16.  Plus, the "ban" on 50 cal is still hypothetical and probabilistic, but the supply of M16s is fixed right now, and THE COST will keep rising.

On a serious note, I would go for the M16.

Transferable M16. It will constantly appreciate in value. a .50 will depreciate.

I'd have to think about it.  Both piss off liberals greatly, and that's a big factor for me

The 50 scares them to death, but, there are limited places taht I can take it.

My AR makes people at the closest range have cerebral hemmorages, and, they don't allow 50s at all....

hmmm..

I think I'd go with the 50

Well of course. But at around $11,000 for either option, "Both!!" isn't realistic.

Thanks for fixing that - typing too quickly

What is the market on transferable M16's these days anyway?

Truthfully, I have never even been to range that could accomodate a .50. But I still want one just to have it before we aren't allowed to anymore.

That said, I think my choice would be the M16. Tons of fun, lots of places were I can shoot it, and guaranteed to appreciate

Sure it is.... buy one for cash, and take out an $22,000 loan!  $11,000 for the extra gun and $11,000  for the ammo you need! Perfect!

Barretts are not limited in production for public purchase at this time as are M16s.
No more transferable M16s can be made.
Supply will never increase, demand most certainly will.
That means with time prices go up, not down.
Unlikely a .50 federal ban will suceed, probably state level only and probably not in Colorado.

Ergo, the M16 is a no brainer.

I would get the M16. The .50 ban thing is still a "what if" so get the M16 and then save up for the .50.

M16. More uses and won't cost me a fortune to use.

Already have a 50 so I would have to get the 16
