I even like their grip angle. KISS is beauty.

quite possibly the best sidearm made for a general issue weapon.
I never did like my glock 22. thats why i traded it for my XD service 40 and never looked back
JMO |

+1 got one in 9 and it's sweet. Same grip angle like an 1911. |
I recently got into them. Still not sure why some people hate them so much. The things are awesome. G18 mags.

I might be able to "like" Glocks if they weren't so damn ugly.
Looks like you do, so goodie for you. |
But's you gots ta be professunal. |
have you posted that in the team forum |
Beautiful! How can anyone not love that. |

Damn straight. |

New From Glock...Now With Extra KABOOM... |

Glocks are adequate weapons. But only adequate.
They aren't any more reliable than any of my other good guns, but they are harder to shoot well. I have a G26 on right now (the only Glock I have any real use for...The other Glocks I have owned I have gotten rid of....) so they do have their merits. But as an overall choice, I don't see them as being all wondermous. Still, if they DO fit you properly and you DO shoot them well, good on ya. Enjoy. Just not my cup of tea. |
Reliable, simple, constant trigger pull.
Very yummy. +1 to glocks. +2 to glock 19 |
Fixed. |
Glocks are great for untrained dummies who aren't really in to guns. That's why so many Police agencies use them. Including mine.
They are revolver simple to operate and they are reliable. That's what makes them good. No levers or external safeties to think about. Just point and click. Really though, what else do you need in a handgun? |
So sad but so true....speaking as the ad-hoc commander of the FTU, SWAT team leader and acting Sgt. I have had officers during quals try to load .40 into 9mm mags, 9mm into .45 mags (how come my mag is all rattly?) and load mags backwards. God help us. Sheep |

Glocks are great guns. I may take my Kimber back tomorrow and get a glock 19 and some boot back. My Kimber stainless ultra carry II is a POS. Least reliable pistol I have shot in my life. I haven't even tried hollow points in it yet. I am sure that would be a joke.
No bullshit question Steyr - da/sa transition on a Sig classic series for an accurate shot, or a constant [possibly shitty] trigger pull on a glock? |
Consistency wins everytime. Agree, it's not the best trigger but it's far from crappy. I've shot Kimbers, Sigs and though I like them both for punching tiny holes in paper, I'll take the Glock over both of these any day for a fighting pistol. Glock abuse |

Sorry, I don't like DAO.
Glocks are too damn ugly for my personal collection. I demand a minimum of esthetic beauty before I shell out $500+ for my guns. |
Must be why my instructors at Blackwater used them then..... |
Just bought my first Glock last weekend. It's a 17 and I love it. KISS at it's finest.
I must have gotten a lemon then. 70k+ rounds through my duty G21 and never had a failure that wasn't ammo induced. Sheep |

My glock's accuracy suffers because it's so ugly
Last I knew it wasn't how pretty a gun looks...it's how it functions. A handgun was designed to kill. It doesn't need to be pretty, just needs to work...my Glock works pretty damn good...ugly or not. -Derek

Let's see:
1)Glocks suck/rule 2).223 round is too light/just right 3) .45 vs 9mm vs .40 4) FAL vs M1A 5) etc |
No bullshit. Sig everytime. I don't seem to have the problems with the initial DA trigger accuracy that so many Glock owners seem to have. 90% of my training time is DA to SA double taps from a draw then decocked and repeat. |
Agreed. And my SIG, even on a DA to SA transition, is more accurate than my Glock EVERYTIME. |

My S.O. issues the model 22 and has approved the 21 recently. I dont care for the 40 cal so I purchased my own model 21. Best pistol I ever owned. Never a problem in over 3 years as my primary carry weapon. I have a model 36 as backup (also carry it off duty) and a Springfield compact XD in 9mm (second backup).
there we go... |
I just bought a G19 yesterday, and I'll be trying it out later this morning. If I like it as much as my friend's G22, I'll finally have my "keeper".
I like the looks of Glocks, and their simple function and reliability, but I don't like the trigger pull and the way they don't feel right in my hands.
I can see the merits of the Glock's consistant trigger pull, but I'm used to a DA/SA pull, so going from DA to SA is no big deal to me. |
AMEN Perfection!! |
Bah, you're going to break down and get a DAK one of these days... I still like my sigs, but it's nice to have something lighter and a bit smaller. And for whoever is pricing them at $500++....I paid $366 for my G19. Look around. Glock is like the toyota of pistols. Not pretty, not flashy, but they work well. |
I'll second that. |
