I work at the PRC airport not to far from the PRC VOR navaid.

Shuttle Discovery piggyback on the 747 flew over on its way home.
Hard to judge the altitude but looked like they were only at about 2 thousand feet.
Kind of cool to see!!!

Interesting. I thought they had quit using the tail fairing for piggyback flights.

Nice pic, it just left Edwards AFB, and heading back to the Cape. This little plane ride is costing NASA/USA taxpayers a cool $1 million.

Were you expecting it?

Was there an ARFCOMer door gunning for it?

Cool pic, thanks.

Here's some interesting facts about piggyback operations: www.nasaexplores.com/show2_articlea.php?id=01-051

Yep I was kind of expecting it.

Back in 2003 (I think it was 2003) when the shuttle made its last trip from Edwards I saw it overhead, I was hoping and thinking it would make the same route this time.

Wow, nice job on the pic.  I'd love to see that go over.  About as good as a C5A Galaxy doing a slow flyover.
