So here I am playing Call of Duty when I hear a crashing/crunching noise. I turn my head and see a new F150 trying to bunny hump an older Escort in my apartment parkinglot. Driver gets out (white female, late 20's, with baby) to check damage, then gets back in and puts the car in drive and rips the front of the car off. Parks sloppily in the middle of the lot, runs into one of the buildings, comes out after 30 sec. gets in her truck and takes off.

I didn't get a plate number, but I did call 911 and told them what I saw. Officer arrived pretty quickly (maybe 5 minutes?) and we looked at the damage while he ran the plate. The owner of the vehicle didn't live at this addess, and I didn't have a plate number, so they don't have a lot to go on other than hoping to catch her on my description of the truck.

I don't know who this car belongs to, but I'd bet it's some chicky-snack (red car, looked well cared for, looks like starving college student material) who came to visit her boyfriend. You know, the kind of person that can't afford full coverage insurance on a car that's hopefully going to see her through college.

What would it have hurt for the driver to leave her contact and insurance info on the windshield?

Probably she didn't have insurance in the first place.  And even if she did, this would have cost her money she didn't feel like paying out.

Um, because then she would have to pay for it.  This way she only has to pay to get her truck fixed from hitting a deer.

This is part of why I hate people.

Call me naive, but I would assume that a person driving a brand-new F150 4x4 would have some kind of insurance. Nobody pays cash for vehicles these days, hers was probably a lease...

My ex GF got her brand new Taurus smashed here in the same parkinglot last winter, on Xmas eve. Someone really got cruising down the back straight and lost it. smashed her rear end in and pushed the car 15 feet in 2 feet of snow.

They ran too.

maybe it was a revenge smashing.....

yousaid white truck girl   smashed  car and then ran into building then left.

so how about this.....

white truck girl is pissed at new bitchgirl , , already has a baby by said boyfriend.

finds out what new bitch girlfriend drives, goes and smashes it with boyfriends/ husbands new truck,

runs into building to leave a note on bitch girlfriends door "see what you get for F'ing my boyfriend/husband!" and then drives off to get in her own car at home and leaves the state to go live with mommy.

I don't know but I could see that happening.

Your not supposed to call 911 when the damage is done. Nice ryhm , huh? Yeah, beleive it or not, when a house is on fire, someone is breaking into your or someone elses house, when someone is dieing for whatever reason other stuff that is a life or death situation, THAT is when your supposed to call 911.
Do you know why? Because when someone calls 911 and it ISN'T an emergency, then that takes the place of someone who could be trying to get through that is one of the above listed emergencies and needed help NOW, not after you get done phoning in that someone has hit and run with no injury to anyone.
If someone was hurt, sure, you never know. But you said she left after she hit the car. so she and the baby were ok ( hopefully the baby was in a car seat. ) , no one was in the car she hit.
Not a 911 emergency. But, I agree, people do suck!
