Buy Blue.org.  It is the best source of companies to boycott I've ever found.  Most of the usual suspects are there; Starbucks, Polo, Barnes & Noble, Google, Gateway, Apple, AFC, Panera and Costco.  But some are surprising to me; Black & Decker, Foot Locker, Diamond Resorts and Caribou Coffee just to name a few.

If you want to see how far left and whacko these dips are check out "Current Campaign".  It's all about our leftist friends at Progressive Insurance with a litttle  Soros and other Marxist thrown in.

BTW - all the above companies are the highest rated...dark blue.  We need to show the far left that two can play that game.  And who the Hell does Starbucks think is buying their overpriced Coffee-crack (sue the bastards!) blue state urban street bums???  Oh, and my good friends at Sonic burgers are dark blue too.  They are trying to settle a suit with me right now...the price of settling just went up!

So what does the red represent?  I thought Hallmark Greeting Cards was very anti?  What does the ranking mean?

Thanks.

I buy blue.  I buy red.

My life is too important to spend time worrying about whether Ben and Jerry gave money to sKerry or whether the UFCW is a blight on society.  I buy products I like because I like the products, not the political ideology the board representatives of the companies hold.

How can you keep up on these things and how are they rating these?

It's idiotic that these companies can contribute to anything political. But I can' keep up on these and I'm not going to worry about how they waste their money. It doesn't matter if you spend money at these places or not, millionaire company owners are still gonna be wealthy and contribute money to socialist agendas.

From their website:

On the morning after the 2004 election, half of the country woke up in disbelief and disgust. Shortly afterwards it turned to anger and bitterness and many were entertaining moving to another country. It didn't take long for all of us to collectively realize that we had lost our country to the other side and we wanted, no needed to do something about it. It was at that moment that the original idea for BuyBlue.org was born.

What is BuyBlue.org all about?
Mission Statement: BuyBlue.org supports businesses that share our progressive values and ideals. BuyBlue.org uses our power as consumers to vote with our wallets, supporting businesses that abide by sustainability, workers' rights, environmental standards, and corporate transparency. At the same time, BuyBlue.org focuses sharply on businesses that violate the essential values of a sustainable, fair and profitable society through their policies and the politicians they support.

Vision Statement: BuyBlue.org will become a powerful tool used by a community of millions dissatisfied with the ineffectiveness of our elected and appointed leaders. We will form strong coalitions with stockholders, shareholders, corporations, small businesses and communities which share our values to gain strength through numbers. We will influence the political landscape, stimulate economic growth among participating businesses and industries and use the American dollar as an incentive for corporate transparency and responsibility.

Values
1. We believe that most politicians no longer serve the public's interest and instead pander to influential corporations and special interests.
2. We believe that America can be great and united again, but first we must embrace progressive ideals that work in the interests of all of our citizens, not simply those in the majority or those who are privileged.
3. We believe that the best way to encourage our political leaders and corporations to enforce progressive ideals is to vote for those ideals the only way those groups understand; with our collective buying power.
4. We believe that as a community we can, will, and must make a difference.

Where do I fit in?
This president and congress will not address the issues we care about. We can either stand by another four years while they further dismantle the social and environmental programs that took 70 years to create - or we can take action. Why do we continue to patronize corporations that will spend their profits supporting undemocratic causes? It is time to persuade these corporations to espouse a more progressive point of view. To do so we must use our real power – the only power that the corporation will heed – the power of the dollar. That is a vote we can cast every day.

In today's America there is a more powerful act than voting blue - and that's buying blue!

In the coming weeks we will be working very hard to get the BuyBlue.org website up and running. We intend for the website to be very community driven both in researching, rating corporations and of course boycotting corporations which do not support our values. The website will be fully available to the public and users will be able to comment and edit information by registering.

How does BuyBlue.org gather data?
BuyBlue.org employs an exacting research methodology when gathering information for a company profile. The sources for all of the data are cited in the company profile on a section by section basis.

Once we decide to research a company, we research the top three key executives' names as reported at www.hoovers.com and on the company's web site.

Hoovers.com provides some basic information free of charge, including the names of the companies three key executives, short summaries of companies and any subsidiaries. Hoovers also lists the corporation's address, phone number, fax number and website. Hoovers has an inhouse editorial staff compiling and updating information daily, and make about 600 updates daily. We also go to each companys web site to identify the current top officers. We research these sources to make sure our information is accurate and up to date.

When BuyBlue.org tallies political contributions, we get our information from the Federal Elections Commission site, www.fec.gov. We only consider donations from he three senior executives as identified by the company and by Hoovers.com, and any donations from Political Action Committees (PACs) associated with the company. Where we can be certain of the relationship, we also count donations from spouses of senior executives. We include spousal contributions only when we can confirm the relationship beyond a reasonable doubt. We do not count contributions from rank and file employees in our data.

At the FEC site, you will find a record for every donation by an individual greater than $250. We only consider data from the 2003-2004 election cycle, because the laws governing donations were different for earlier time periods.

This is a very time-consuming process, because often people use different names and list their occupations in different ways. If we have doubts about the information, we do not use it. In our data, you will see an FEC Schedule A record number for each donation. If you follow the link, it will take you to the actual electronic image on file that records that donation.

We use The Center for Responsive Politics (www.opensecrets.org) site to gather PAC information about a company. The Center for Responsive Politics sources their data from the FEC as well. We use them as the source for PAC data, because their presentation makes it easy to identify the distribution of the contributions of PACs between Democrats and Republicans. For example, if the CEO of Company 1 donated $1,000 to a PAC named the Americans for Americans PAC, we would go to the opensecrets.org PAC site, and learn that this PAC contributed 37% of its donations to Democrats and 63% to Republicans. We would then allocate the CEO of Company 1s donation to the Americans for American PAC to reflect that 37%-63% distribution, or $370 to the Democrats and $630 to the Republicans.

For each PAC we find, we summarize the spending for the 2003-2004 election cycle and provide a link to opensecrets.org so you can examine the details if you wish. We also count the contributions of the companys PAC, if any, in totaling each companys contributions to Democrats and Republicans in the 2003-2004 cycle.

Campaign finance laws have changed in recent years, and for the 2003-2004 election cycle, it was illegal for corporations themselves to contribute directly to politicians.

Even though campaign finance laws have outlawed direct corporate donations to politicians, there are still ways around those laws. If a company has a PAC, its purposes can include funneling money to members of Congress or to a Presidential candidate on behalf of that company to pursue favorable legislation. Many of the top executives donate heavily to various politicians in order to buy influence in Washington. If an executive makes sizeable donations to a politician's campaign, this can increase the likelihood of favorable treatment of the company's interests when the candidate wins, takes office, is assigned to a legislative committee, and votes.

Sheesh...what a typical liberal load of crap

Of course you can't boycott every blue business.  BUT, if we would use our numbers and be ACTIVIST like they are we could make some changes.  Many of these companies are actively anti-second ammendment and anti-American.  Hollywood for instance.  I say fuck 'em!  I will not  support my enemies.
