what about this mess that Hammas thinks they are victorious and will continue violence?

should the US be helping fund this?

if this happened here, would you comply, even if the govt paid you $300,000 ?

This IS EXACTLY why should mind our own eff-ing business, except when it comes to national security.  And I mean direct immediate threat.  Not some liberal concoction that if we don't heavily subsidize Israel, or Africa or wherever, then long term we may suffer.

Unfortuneately, GWB has been a great dissapointment in the regard.

Yes, the land they are withdrawing from was land they took over and occupied during a war.

Sharone has already issued a warning to them stating that if they respond to Isreal's peace offering with violence they will "face the fiercest fire they have ever seen".

The US has been working for and funding "peace" in the middle east for decades.  If it works it will be worth it.

The government forces people off their land every day...you don't really have a choice.  The Isrealies that aren't leaving are complaining that they are losing everything they worked for.  WTF they were paid very well for their houses, they didn't lose anything.

Nope.  Technically they won it and legally it is theirs.

No.  It just makes us enemies on both sides.  Do you think 9-11, the Cole attack, the marines in Lebanon, etc is a small price to pay?  Personally, I don't.  We should mind our own business.

Agreed.  Personal property rights need to be respected.  Liberal kommies want to snatch our land.

+1 ... it wasn't their land to start with.

Secondly,  7,000 israelis had taken 40% of the land in Gaza and needed 30,000 IDF soliders to protect them from the 1.3 million palestinians that were surrounding them. It was madness.

Israel should not abandon their settlements.  We should damn well NOT be paying for this.

If I was there I would take the money, salt the ground, and burn the house.

It could happen here.

yea i was thinking that since Israel took the land during the wars, its kinda like the US annexing most of the SW during the 1800s......but we dont have the terrorists bombing the SW looking to take the land back

so then if the Israelis leave, then it would appear that they give in to hammas and terrorism

even when the IDF moved outta lebanon a couple of yrs back, it seemed that they were pulling out to better secure thier borders

but now this de-settlementaion appears either the Israelies will get palistinine cooperation or it will split Israel into civil war.....
