............... and tonight I decided to go out and shoot him. (I'm still learning how to operate my camera, so I had to shine a flashlight on him so the autofocus would work.  )

I've got those running around my place.  They seem to think the house is a tree.  They cling to the vinyl siding and croak all night long.  Annoying little creatures.  MJD

You didn't have to shoot him.

YOu coulda just held your knee in his back until the police arrived.

(Oddly, the frog isn't wearing a shirt either.)

Cool frog. Ive just got a bunch of toads around here. I like them actually. They don't make much noise and they eat alot of bugs. Natures pest control.

I haven't heard a sound from the little critter yet, but it likes to eat the bugs attracted by our porch light.  I like reptiles and amphibians anyway, but anything that rids us of bugs is good. We're about to put up a bat box to encourage more bats to dine in our yard each night.

Lots of bats eat frogs, incidentally.

The bats will also eat beneficial insects. Like dragonflies. Bats have proven to be not useful in controlling Mosquitos.

Yep.  I'd take one dragonfly to 10 bats in that respect.

Same here. One toad hangs out on the front porch. Started out as little thing, but is quite the monster as toads go now.

Yup. Sometimes they get so tight nothing can come out either, and that's when they croak.
