get a lawyer to send them a letter on his firm's letter head
you'll likely get a check for $300

i am always a bit skeptical of this stuff. did you read ALL of the fine print regarding your equipment?

been customer for 6 years with zero problems. not doubting you just wondering what hook they got you with.

+1

I've been a Dish customer for the last 9 years, I was one of the first to sign up after their first bird went hot.  I've not had any problems whatsoever.

Gotta be some fine print in the deal you got somewhere...

And cable gets bashed for its customer service.

I am sorry to hear about your problem, but that just goes to show what kind of company they are.

I don't know, a lot of these companies immediately cave when lawyers get involved. When I worked at Sony they'd cave into customer demands at just the threat of legal action

I had a big problem with Dish. When Primestar was bought I switched to Dish. They offereed half off

your bill for so long I forget .It added up to 300 bucks or so.You had to go a couple of months before you got the credit. New it up front so no problem. But it seems they forgot their end of the deal. On

the third bill I noticed no discount. No biggie so I call them up. They said next month would be free to

make up for it.Next month no discount. Im a little peeved but it takes time to let the paper work catch

up.I call was told it would be credited back to a check card.We pay by mail and did not authorize them

to use the account other than the credit Great service I thought, when they screw up they own up to

it. the next month its taken out of my checking account which is for internet purches and has very little

in it. It bounces and they have the fucking nerve to call me and bitch that they didnt get there money.

I said I was sorry and paid about 25% of the bill. They call and say they did not recieve full payment.

I said Im sorry Ill get it right out . Agian I only pay part. I get about 500 ahead over the next few

months, and said how about we settle what you owe me or I dont pay you a dime. the only reason we

have it today is my wife pays the bill. Haven't had a problen in 4 or so years

Call them daily until you get your money back.  Or every morning and afternoon.  Legal threats mentioned above are good ideas as well.

I have cable only because of cable internet access. Dish network and other dish based services DO offer more TV channels at a fraction of the price, but they don't provide high speed internet access.

DSL sucks, so I'm stuck with $55/month for basic cable TV (broadcast networks) and 3Mbps downstream internet.
