I remodeled my kitchen. Thought I show off a little

Here's the old kitchen, mid demolishion. Smashing stuff is fun...

We replaced the stove, dishwasher, sink, fauscett, countertops, put in a tile backsplash, painted tha cabinets...

Here's the stove. Note the spice box with rollup tambour door...

Door open...

Sink side

All together about $4,500, so I got off easy. Now, to guilt trip the wife into a few toys...

Looks good.  Did you do it, or have it done?

I have one weekend left on my mother-in-laws kitchen.  Been at it every weekend since June.  only took 2 weekends off.  It was a complete tear out and removed two walls.  lots of fun!

Looks good!

My house is all finished except for my kitchen.  My kitchen is so ugly....I have orange counter tops, brown paneling half way up the wall, and the top half of the wall is pink!!

Once I finish my masters degree, I'm gonna get to it!

Looks nice.

The only thing I'd worry about is having to clean grease off of that rollup door.

MIL kitchen? You must REALLY love yer wife!!!

My remodel was not as intensive as yours. I only cut out the wall section over the sink.

Would love to see pics of your remodel.

And I know whatcha mean about "every weekend since June..."

I'm about to drop $15-17k into redoing my kitchen.  It's a bigger job than what you did, though.  We're rearranging the layout, all new cabinets, new appliances and all.

I'm not looking forward to doing it, but I am looking forward to the completed project.  Yours looks nice!

Even $15-17K is not an outrageous amount.

Are you doing solid surface countertops? They would have been $3-4K alone in my kitchen (40 sq ft of countertop) .

Have you looked into new cabinet fronts? Cheaper than all new cabinets.

+1.

Refacing is good unless the units are really messed up.

I'm about 3/4ths the way done with my kitchen remodeling.  Entire makeover.  Demolition and moved 2 walls.   About $8400 on cabinets, $4100 for silestone countertops (I think it was 78 sq feet), new appliances include dual fuel stove, dishwasher and wine frig totaling about $3500.   Tile floors are next.

Also did some remodeling on the rest of the house.  Total house rewired, sheetrock work and texture.  Still need pain and the wood floors need some patchwork and refinishing.

Next comes my new driveway and 3 car garage.

what kind of countertops are those.
I'm just about to start on my kitchen and haven't decided if I will just do a facelift or a re-do

Hmm.. Dream kitchen would be similar, but with a gas stove on the island with a hood overhead. Spice cabilet mught be a little hard to get to with several pots on the stove, but I second the hide-a-gun idea.

Laminate countertop, with wood trim.

Oven hood would block my view of the TV.

Awesome work, sir.

I'd get as far as the demolition part (in which I would undoubtedly injure myself) and then realize I have no idea what I was doing, and panic.

Yes, solid-surface countertops.  Refacing won't work - we're rearranging the layout and adding an island.  And the quality of the existing cabinets SUCKS.

I fully expect our $15-17k budget to blow up to about $20k by the time we're done.
