Do the muzzle brakes that are commonly seen on post-ban rifles have a detrimental effect on the ar-15's accuracy? What about flash hiders, compared to the brake?

Welcome to the board.  I don't have the info you wanted, but this reply will bump it up to the top to let others see it.  You might want to post this same question in the competition forum.  Those guys and gals can help you out.

An un-threaded
barrel with a decent
crown should be more consistant
than a barrel that is threaded
(and therefore thinned) at the muzzle
and wearing a device that is torqued on.

So it is not the device
that would make the difference.
