The federals could give a damn and it rests pretty solidly on the Senate.
Between California and Texas's congress critters there's a pretty big contingent calling for enforcement of the southern border. Arizona's and New Mexico's couple of guys are there too and a few of the smarter thinking congressmen - Tom Tancredo (R) of Colorado as an example are up in arms. But the Senate is more concern with moving homeland defence money to Wyoming and building $245 million dollar bridges to islands with 50 people on them in Alaska.
Bringing home the bacon while homeland defence suffers, the highways fall apart, and illegal immigration runs our states bankrupt paying for their federal forced schooling, medical, and incarceration costs.
California has a ballot initiative started which would create a California border patrol to enforce our southern border. If we could stop with the anchor babies we could do a bunch of good too but that's federal law. I'd also like to see proof of American citizenship like Arizona has to vote - you'll see hundreds of thousands of voters turned away from the polls and possibly a shift in the voting (75-80% of illegals voted "D"). I'd also like to see proof of American citizenship or a valid immigration visa before your van full of kids can attend the school I'm paying for. How about taking cars from those without insurance, or a license, or valid registration rather than from Asian kids with stickers on their cars?
The federal government is a whole lot to due with what's ailing me.
