That guy has balls - I'd have the EOD yanking on it for me.

Yeah, but you'd have to buy them flowers, and take them to dinner and a movie first.

check out the guy behind him with a hammer. I would tell him to let me run down the street before he hit it with that thing.

If the warhead was mangled by flying between two bars, isn't it possible that some of the explosive charge + the detonator are still intact?  I don't know if the hammer is such a great idea but they do look like they know what they're doing.

I seriously hope they have reason to believe that thing is no longer explosive.

ETA:  It looks like the warhead is gone but the dude doesn't look EOD to me.

It looks like one of those aluminum phosphorus flare rockets.  The hand fired types, I forget the nomenclature for them.  But it’s a spitting image.

Very lucky. I think I wouldn't want to be standing nearby either when they break out the hammer.

I'm running up the B.S. flag on this.

The whole point of the slats is that they are more narrow than the warhead of an RPG, preventing it from detonating on contact. Those slats are undamaged, the rocket body doesn't appear to have a warhead, and there is no visible explosive damage or scorching on the hull. And wouldnt't eh headlight / turn signal be busted by the close proximity of the blast?

Doesn't look right.

what i was thinking, for the RPG to get lodged like that it would have had to have gone off, and there doesn't seem to be any evidence of that.

I don't think it blew up either.  But even if it hit the slats directly, the 'stand-off' distance is too great for the jet of molten metal to penetrate.  The ideal stand-off distance is a multiple of the diameter of the base of the cone of the explosive charge.  So a diameter of, say, 4 inches would need a stand-off distance of 6-8 inches (1 1/2-2) for maximum penetration.

If the head of the charge goes between the slats then the warhead is broken up and fails to explode since the piezo-electric fuze is not actuated.  I was wondering if it is a good idea to hammer away at it if the detonator + some remaining explosive is still left.

This topic has come up here many times.

also, he could have unscrewed the tail fin assembly of the rpg then pulled the war head assembly from the front and the rest from the rear.

cool pic, nonetheless!
