Her son supported the war. Why can't she come to the fact that there is a chance he could not come back when he inlisted in the army. I personally don't agree with the war but it happened and MANY people are dying. War isn't fun it's not games and you don't get up after being shot like paintball. She needs to get over it and get on with her like. She is out for her own. She said she wants Bush to tell her why "her" son is dead. Why not have him explain why all the men and women are dead who have died in the wars he started? She's not the first and won't be the last to loose a loved one in a war.

She was singing a completely different tune last year when he died, saying she supported the war, the troops, and that he died for a good cause and with honor.

How much does it pain you to know she is doing this, in all likelyhood, against her sons wishes? He paid the price and now his own mother is working to make his sacrifice go in vain...
Imagine how he would've felt being told his Mom would piss all over his greatest moment of sacrifce..

I don't think she can ever accept that her son might have had a different political opinion then she does. While I respect her sacrifice, and can't imagine how hard it is to lose a loved one to a war you don't agree with, she needs to come to the realization that her son, in all likelyhood, wasn't like her, and go home with a little bit of pride in knowing her son was a braver person than she could ever be.
And no, it doesn't take bravery to camp outside of Bush's ranch demanding another explanation, that's just pure bias and pressure from Michael Moore. |

Probably not money, it is not hard to manipulate some people who are deeply depressed. Something the loss of a son could easily cause. Take the right person and combine that with depression/emotional instability and exploit it… hit them day after day with endless propaganda and the result is not surprising. This was called brainwashing not long ago. I suspect she was targeted and encouraged in her bitterness... moveon.org or one of its sister organizations would find no problem in exploting the woman, they are doing it as we speak.. |

Probably a day won't go by till Bush leaves office where they won't be talking about leaving Iraq. Media wants to claim the same legacy they claimed with Vietnam, that they got us out. It may sound extreme but meeting with this woman would be nearly the same as having tea with OBL and answering HIS questions. She is demanding good will but will not be giving it.
Still, I see this thing with the mother as another desperate attempt to get some traction for the "peace at all costs" types. After all, they're the ones that wanted us to apologize for causing "9-11", the previous bombing of the WTC, Iraq invading Kuwait, poverty, slavery, and generally anything that might give cause for someone to be even slightly offended or uncomfortable. |
