looks like a neglected SKS to me.
How does battery acid marks look different from just rust. I bet it still fires eh? |

I bet it fires just as good as the day it left the factory! It's just speculation about the battery acid, but I will look for some more detailed pics. This is interesting... Ben |

Every time I see a neglected firearm, I automatically assume it's because it used to belong to Al Capone and was hidden behind a brick wall for 60 years. Now I realize there may be two possible explanations.

SKS is a decent weapon, but the condition of that one is terrible. I'd still pay 100$ for it, since it's got some history behind it and undoubtedly shoots great. Ben |

Wow!  That's the real story right there. Far as I knew the police normally didn't have the forethought to sell the firearms and rather destroyed them. Granted I don't think it's a decision made by the dept but by the city/county politicos.San Diego PDs first helo for their air support unit was a seized Bell Jet Ranger II from a drug dealer.

I'm sure the atmosphere in and around a meth lab is pretty corrosive.......... Just having the rifle out over a period of time would probably cause some corrosion/rusting............  |

I remember seeing 2 handguns seized at a meth lab in a rural part of texas. One was a tec-9 and the other some type of small handgun, lorcin, etc. BOTH were covered in orange (rust?) stuff and permanently destroyed. Ben |

It can't belong to a meth head, it's still assembled.
 Seriously though, the fumes from this crap will tear ANYTHING up. I've seen steel bathtubs and sinks eaten thru. Imagine breathing that stuff constantly. Esp those that have kids in the house.
