Yea, but we have a community and a lot of the others don't. How many other forums have group get-togethers and such?
Not only that but we are probably involved in a big way in people buying new ARs and also joining the NRA. Overall, our effect is much greater than a lot of other boards. |

Uhhh.. all of them? Even the Photo forum I'm on has get togethers, and it's pretty small. No having some sort of regional or state get together is pretty rare. Av. |

Of course Usenet traffic on the Internet dwarfs all of these new-fangled web-based forums. I do some work for a regional ISP, and their Usenet traffic is still five times larger than all of their web traffic combined.
I helped manage the first Usenet news server in the state, and I setup and managed what I think was the first commercial Usenet news server in the state, so I'm biased.z |

Oh you aren't kidding about Free Republic being IMPOSSIBLE to read and keep up a discussion. You can't find topics, organization of threads is utterly nonexistant. You can't trace conversations or see who's responding to what with any ease at all. Free Republic is like the world's biggest discussion board - put into a blender every five minutes.
