I have generally found that there is a high rate of correlation between the annoying lengths a band goes to to conjure a name which is a deliberate and pretentious non sequitur on the one hand, and its suckiness on the other. IOW, deliberately stupid name generally = unforgiveably lousy band.

I hadn't seen SNL in a long time but I wanted to see system of a down and suffered through it. I thought they were awesome! I really hate their liberal lyrics but I like to listen to that kind of music when I work out. I like rage against the machine as well. It's a dilemma for me, how can I enjoy the beat and other aspects of a group or a type of music when I despise the political lean of the group in question? At least if it's one of the screaming yelling groups I can't understand the lyrics, unlike someone like ani difranco or joan baez.

I really liked the group, SNL has no redemming qualities however. Mad TV rules! And she spies comes on after that! (am I the only one that watches that?)
