Notice how this "scumbag" author left out the names of those vets and colonels he claimed were fake, especially the ones from the south! Ask your self this why would he leave out these names? Is it because he made those parts up?  

Notice he did not metion the scum in congress who claimed to be a medal of honor winner, but mentioned a few real vets there! Ask yourselves why?

There are vets who wear the nam ribbon just for landing there in some re-supply mission then made their exit, never to return! Vet's who were in LAOS or CAMBO in most cases had nothing in their records to indicate they were even in a combat zone. Then there was the fire at military records center in St. Lewis, so things are really screwed up!

My feeling is this author hates southern history, maybe even trying to get some grant, to make up a new version of history!

His story is a take off of an article Colonel Hackworth wrote a few weeks ago!

First, that is a relief that is was way back then.  That was the same year I got out, so they probably wouldn't have had them yet.  I hope they didn't lose mine, I don't want to be accused of being a fraud.[:D]I would imagine that there actually are some covert operatives whose records would be secret or sealed, something along those lines.  I have heard that some MIA's from 'Nam weren't really MIA's but were actually sprited off to work for the CIA.  Don't know how much truth there is to that, but it is maybe a little believable.

What am I?

In my mind I'm not a Viet Nam veteran.  I am a Viet Nam war veteran.  I served over seas as support troops.  I did at one time intercept some Chinese intelligence headed for North Viet Nam which I was told and I hope helped our guys over there.  But as I said I don't feel I'm in the same class as the men that actually fought in Viet Nam, and I wouldn't belittle them by trying to come off like I did.  I was just one little cog in the great war machine.

Some guys I guess need to feel bigger than they really are, I don't.

rule of thumb 99.9 % of people taht say tee were x spec ops are FOS. if they were really spec ops they couldt tell ya what they did.

Bootedaddy your so right about the fact that thousands of us were there as support. Yea we could have bought it with an errant rocket or mortar, but for the most part what we did hopefully aided and helped pull some of those on the grounds butts out of fires.

You said that you did some intercept, did you channel it through the 509, 313, or one of the groups in pleiku or americal RR groups. Our job was to locate, triangulate, and then call in puff, artillery or B-52's. Each person had a job, those that exaggerate have a real poor view of themselves.

I love it when some guy says "can you spare a buck for a Viet Nam Vet and he's younger than me!  I tell him he was shittin' his pants while Viet Nam was going on and get a job or a better line.
