Need some ideas.
Such as: Bodies hit the floor, die MF die, I stand alone. I need stuff that could be military or combat related. |
Bulls On Parade & Pistol Grip Pump.......Rage Against the Machine
White Zombie - I Am Legend
I feel like such a pussy for suggesting "Danger Zone"...
It's true, though. Music will get people hyped up, becasue it appeals to raw, unreasonable emotion. |
"Sugar" by Sys Of A Down. I don't think it's violence related, but it's always gotten me amped up.
And don't bother with the whole SOAD and politics issue, yes they suck, so do 90% of the other bands out there. While we're at it... "Killing In The Name Of" -Rage Against The Machine |
Nearly every GWAR song is violence related, but not so much military, as it is Gods sexually mutilating and killing humans in every song.
They do it all tongue-in-cheek as a parody of heavy metal, but never come out of character. |
How about "Dogs of War" by Motorhead? Seriously badass tune that I can never get enough of hearing.
Copy - Pasted lyrics follow Stand or fall, live or die (Stand) Strong and true to the end (Now) Fly the flag, let them see (Sky) We will never bend the knee (Don't fail) We are the last of all (Here) If we give way we lose (No) So can you stand with me? (We can) Will you now pay your dues (Hai) The tales they tell, of how we stand this day We that defend our cause Will last a thousand years Come now the dogs of war Break or hold, die or kill (Live) Try or fail, or succeed (Fight) We must be an iron wall (Hold) When the heart receives the call (We go) We are the least of them (Fight) We are few, but we are brave (Yes) So can you stand with me (We Will) The tales they tell, of how we stood this day We few that know the law Will last a thousand years Hear now the dogs of war Sun is set, darkness falls (See) Now comes the enemy (Beware) Draw sword and shield defy (Hai) All their wives must scream and cry (Stand fast) We are the last hope now (Last) Of all our people fair, so will you die with me (We do) Will you now do your share (Hai) The tales they tell, of what we do this day We that guard the door Will last a thousand years Let go the dogs of war This song is like fifty six minutes long, so it's great for getting all pumped up for while doing the workout thing or thinking that you're going to be man enough to pick your teeth with some jizzsponge's ribs. |
You need to turn that frown upside down and start listening to some positive alternative.
I think Anthrax - One Man Stands would make a great soundtrack for a military 'bombing shit in Iraq' type video.
I like Warren Zevon's war songs, Jackel, Ugly Kid Joe, and don't forget Alice Cooper. Though I think you're not after that flavor.

Huh? Ska? Aggressive? Knock yer teeth out? What kind of ska are you listening to? Death Metal Ska? On topic, check out Blood For Blood for sure. Nothing but good old fashioned hate. You can hear some of their samples on amazon: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/104-0338211-0383940 A little about them: www.thorprecords.com/bands/bloodforblood.php Also, there is a great band out there called The Bodies who have a great pro troops song called "We Fly The Flag" on their EP "Firepower Is Our Business". Probably one of the best pro US punk/Oi songs out there. Hard to find, but might be able to track it down on Kazaa. The Bruisers also have some great hatefull songs (check out "Intimidation" if you can find it). For those who don't know (and I'm sure there are many here), the singer for the Dropkick Murphys was the singer for this band as well. www.taang.com/bruisersmain.html And of course, who could forget Forced Reality? Very pro US songs on their album. Among them, a very rockin anti flag burning song: www.taang.com/forcedset.html |

'Veteran of the Psychic Wars' by Blue Oyster Cult
'Twilight Zone' by Golden Earring (about violence, but not really military) |
Just about anything Rammstein. If the majority of the song isn't bad, they added something to it about death.
here's a sample track of them: www.putfile.com/media.php?n=blood-for-blood---Some-Kind-Of-Hate |
Du Hast - Rammstien
Fucking Hostile - Pantera Black Sabbath - War Pigs Ozzy - Hellraiser Hatebreed - I will be heard |
I second this. It's dark and violent, without being loud and overly distorted like lots of current US hard rock. |
Wow, and I can't believe it hasn't been metioned already, but "Somebody's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In Tonight" by the Rezillos.
Not hard by some standards, but a fucking jam nonetheless! |
Primus, My name is Mud My name is mud Not to be confused with bill or jack or pete or dennis My name is mud and it’s always been ’cause I’m the most boring sons-a-bitch you’ve ever seen I dress in blue-yes navy blue From head to toe I’m rather drab except my patent shoes I make ’em shine, well most the time ’cept today my feet are troddin’ on by this friend of mine Six foort two and rude as hell I got to get him in the ground before he starts to smell My name is mud My name is mud, but call me alowishus devadander abercrombie That’s long for mud so I’ve been told Told that by this sonsabitch that lies before me bloated blue and cold I’ve got my pride, I drink my wine I’d drink the finest except I haven’t earned a dime in several months Or were it years The breath on that fat bastard could bring any man to tears We had our words, a common spat So I kissed him upside the cranium with an aluminum baseball bat My name is mud |

Iron Maiden has a TON of military songs....The Trooper, Aces High, Where Eagles Dare, Paschendale, etc. Although they aren't quite as hard as say, Pantera.
+1 I would also suggest any thing by Disturbed! They kick ASS! |
Pantera has so much that is good it's hard to know where to start, Cowboys from Hell is one of my all time favorites though.
Basically any good thrash metal band will sing about war and violence. Choice cuts include: Sepultura ("Territory", "Amen", "Propaganda"), Slayer, Lamb of God, Kreator, Amon Amarth (although they sing about Vikings and old school combat), At The Gates, Black Dahlia Murder, Black Label Society, Fear Factory, Iced Earth (they even have a triology of songs about the Battle of Gettysburg), Machine Head ("Davidian" is a good cut), Metallica, Megadeth, Meshuggah, Ministry, Pantera, Hatebreed, Pissing Razors, Superjoint Ritual, and Testament.
And what in the fuck does that have to do with the Rezillos? |
+1,000,000,000,000,000 |
Hatebreed-I will be heard
Deffinitely kicks ass! Anything by Rage Hell yea!! |
First time I heard "Danger Zone" I totally flipped out and killed everyone in the room. Try listening to Kenny Loggins backwards....crazy shit. |
agreed, that album (The Glorious Burden) is awesome. It's got an excellent metal version of the Star Spangled Banner. Although my favorite song off it is "Declaration Day" -- possibly the most patriotic metal song ever. |
You said it best, Not hard by some standards, but a fucking jam nonetheless! |
If I'm REALLY in the mood to flex some violent muscle I usually turn to hard industrial or heavy techno with deep metal riffs.
Violent music needs no words... FWIW.... Disposable Heroes - Metallica |
