The cost to Japanese civilians would reach over 20 million, and the cost of American lives would be around 1 million in the first days if I'm correct. ben |

Everything's better with a little nuke in it! Though it didn't kill anywhere near as many as the Dresden bombings.

The firebombing of Tokyo was just as devastating as the nuclear attacks (not counting radiation of course). Killed 100,000 and utterly destroyed 16 square miles, but almost no one outside of WWII buffs and aviation types remember that fact.
