Mantises are cool...I had a pet one named Fred for about 6 mos...he wandered into the house one 4th of July. He live in the kitchen, and would hang upside down from under the kitchen counters. He met an untimely end when he decided to check out the oven...someone left it open during a football game, right before he pre-heated it...so when he went back, closed the door and fired it up, poor old Fred was toast.
He was about 7" at that point, and quite handsome as Mantises go.
