I work for a security company.  We have to be licensed wherever we work.  We are prepping to deploy to a site.  We call the local PD to ask about licensing.  There are no state licensing proceedures in this particular state.

Us:  "What are the licensing requirments for (Yourtown)?"

Chief:  "Where are you going to be?"

Us:  "(Address)"

Chief:  "Oh, that's not in our jurisdiction."

Cool!  So, since it's county, we call the Sherriff, who says they have no policy regarding security licensing.

An hour ago, (Yourtown) po-po pulls up.  It's Chief Dumbass himself.

"I spoke to somone with your company.  I told him this wasn't in the city limits, but, I was mistaken."

I gave him our compliance guy's number and, he left.

Good thing this doesn't happen if somone needs 911 here.
