I just read an excellent thread with pointers to video of the 6 Marines killed in Iraq.

Within minutes the thread disappeared from GD.

How are we supposed to make good decisions without correct information, painful or not?

I work in an emergency room and routinely have to give bad news to family and friends.  The transition is much easier if all are informed throughout the process, and involved in the decision making.  Avoiding the pain makes the inevitable that much more painful, then with no say in the process. Pain must be dealt with ASAP. Denial is seldom helpful.

We must know our enemy.  Restricting information like this is damaging.

Shouldnt have watched that video with us leaving here in 2wks to start our deployment.

He wants us to see it but he wants us to fear it. Seeing it and growing support for our troops is not what they want. They want fear and panic.
