He Landed in his HMX-1 100ft. away from me. He was visiting the Gaylord Hotel in Grapevine Texas, he landed in front of the fire station my dad works at. He arrived with 2 Marine One's and three blackhawks. The Secret Service Presence was amazing!

This Is A Picture Of The Pile Of Weapons That Was Laying In The Bay. There were about a dozen MP5's, 4 AR-10's, and 4 Sniper Rifles.

This Is The CAT (Counter Assault Team). They were all in their early twenties. A very cool bunch of guys, I talked to them for quite a while. They carried some awesome M4's!

Secret Service Said No Pictures Showing The Inside Of The Vehicles, Helicopters, Airplanes, or Submarines. I assume it is for security reasons so I will not show it. They were very anal and thorough.

It's not passing the smell test.

ETA: when I was on St. Martin. Bush SR Landed to talk to the French Pres. I was taking pics of the planes, A Marine came up and took my film.

but anyone else think it's really shitty security that someone was able to get in the driver's seat of one of the vehicles and be in it long enough to get their pic taken?
hell, I got yelled at for climbing up on a 3 foot high berm next to the dirtch to get a slightly better view when AF1 left Buffalo a while back

It was an expected visit, secret service had been there for a week setting everything up. There are 82 school buses there, the secret service wanted them there to block line of sight. Every road for a square mile was closed down. There are two counter-sniper teams set up in the field. That picture of tthe limo was taken the day before he was there. The place was closed to the public, only firefighters were allowed in there so security was light, when the picture was taken we didn't know the rules. The next day is when they said not to take pictures of the inside.

There Were Two Calls While He Was There, No Problems Getting To Either One, We Had Resources From Several Different Cities Staged In The Area.

First thing I noticed, too.

I'd love to spend a week with the SS. Just the science of securing an area, setting up egress and counter-assualt, and all that good stuff would just be fascinating.

I was picked to go help service an Air Force One main mount wheel at NAS Point Mugu back in 1984.

The regular Air Force maintenance guys needed to borrow some of our GSE and tools (their nike cart didn't have enough pressure) so we were "volunteered" to help out.

After we were we done we were invited by the maintenance guys (with the Secret Service guys permission) to go aboard the plane to check it out.

Up the boarding ladder, into the first area for a quick look around and then we were off the plane.

From what little that I saw it was SWEET inside!
