Are you asking if that's a good deal or where we know of cars that can be purchase for invoice + 1%?

I think its obvious that its a good deal if you found it.  Usually invoice + $500 is the rule of thumb.

On a $30,000 car, a $300 profit is nothing and paying $300 is pittance.

depends.  sometimes dealerships get kickbacks from the manufacturer.  like, they can sell it to you 'at below invoice' and claim they're losing money on the sale.  thats the dumbest thing for obvious reasons.  they wouldnt sell it if they were losing money...

as for your original question i have absolutely no idea!

Anyone can get a good deal if they are resistant enough. Dealers will nueter any deal to get you to buy then and there.

Depends on the car -some are in high demand and MSRP is the going rate no matter where you shop. Other models are piling up on lots and dealers will cut prices to move them.

eta: GTO, is it the 2004 or 2005 with 400hp? If the deal is on a 2004 then it's probably a good deal. If it's on the 2005 I'd say it's a great deal.
