Is it safe?  I'm thinking that there must be people out there that can "hack" the games.

Um, you don't read the news much, do you?

Seriously, many of these "OnLine" games are hosted in some country where our laws don't apply.  They might rig the games, they might not.  That's not the worry.  While your playing "BlackJack" their playing "Run up this dude's credit card and empty his bank account".
