Makes me wonder if they were all actually shooting at the car.

+1

The first shots were WAY ahead of the car.

BTW, the rest of the vids at the link above were rather entertaining as well.

I was thinking the same, lots of misses that werent even in the ballpark.   I imagine some were just walking rounds in and hadnt sighted at that range.   Pretty cool, wish I could complete my kit as an FA.

Where have I seen that before?
Oh yeah, on "Monster Garage" where Jesse James shot up the older Mazda RX-7 that he converted into a sandrail and wouldn't work.

Same video?   I saw the part where he lit it with the minigun on another episode.

There's some other good ones at the link too.    I love the one with the little girl holding on to the 1919 and letting it rip.    I wish I could complete my kit as an FA.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I did watch a Bianchi cup one time that the competiters had to carry a plastic squirrell with them through the stages. I don't know why , they just did. At the end it was set on a post and EVERYONE opened up at once. The post was 15 yds away and you would not beleive how many misses there were before somebody hit it. That was just odd IMO.

In the "OK 1919 Tracer" vid  www.putfile.com/media.php?n=Ok-Tracer-1919, why does the cyclic rate seem to slow down towards the end?

Is it the heat build-up causes friction and thus slows the rate of fire down?

Thx-

It's the same principle.  Shooting the hell out of a car with a mg/minigun.

Guys I was there, you've got to understand there were probably two hundred some people there on the firing line, and the majority were all just chomping at the bit waiting for that car to start moving so they could open up on it.  Add to that a number of them rarely shoot mgs and you get a lot of misses.  Also as someone mentioned there were a lot of other targets besides the car.  If you ever attend a machinegun shoot you'd understand not too many folks there are going to be applying the one shot one kill sniper method.  More like the how many mags can I put through this before the barrel changes color method.

FYI - I fired 4 30 round mags through my M-4 in between the car moving and the second big blowup, and I'm sure all 120 rounds hit the target....
