There is no way what so ever I can rent a car?  I'm going to vegas and need a car.  The priceline thing says I have to be 25.

You can, but it cost more per day.  Call the company (like hertz) direct and make the reservation.

One of the major companies rents to under 25 ... I can't remember which one though.

Along the same lines, are there any companies in MI that will rent a 20-yr-old a cube truck, other than U-Haul?  Nothing against U-Haul, just weighing my options.

Yup.  Many moons ago I went to Savannah, GA to ferry an aircraft back to San Diego.  WX went down and I got stuck for a couple of days.  Decided to rent a car and see the sights.

"Sorry, can't rent you one."

"Why?"

"Because you're under 25."

Yeah, I can pick up a BRAND NEW AIRCRAFT FROM THE FACTORY AND FLY IT CLEAR ACROSS THE COUNTRY, but I can't rent a piece of shit sub-compact that costs a fraction of what the plane costs and drive around town.

I ran into that same sentiment when I was in the Army. I needed to rent a car, but I was only 20 at the time. They told me to piss off. I was sitting there thinking "Uncle Sam will load me down with more linked 5.56mm than I can carry, give me a SAW, stuff my pockets full of grenades, and let me blow the shit out of bunkers on a live fire range while I and my buddies shoot suppressive fires within feet of each other but this scrawny little bimbo won't let me rent a cheap Ford for the weekend?"

Vegas has these cool sunken cross walks in some of the neighborhoods. Probably for drainage I would imagine, but take a Cavalier through one at 60 and you will become airborne.....

Oh, and BTW....................sorry for ruining it for ya............but now that I'm 30, I can rent a car again

My mom signed for the first rental car I drove, which was rented through Dollar.

We arrived in Vegas on my 21st birthday, and they told us it's an extra $14.99/day for me to drive it since I'm <25, but that was cool and all since my mom flat out refuses to drive in ANY urban setting.

I'm pretty sure Enterprise will rent to you without a co-signer for a fee similar to the one my mom paid for me.

Last time I checked, there were 2 major rental companies that rented to under 25; however the daily rate was astronomical.

personally, I don't think anyone under 25 should have a license period.

But that's just me.

The rental car place on Camp Lejeune will let you rent a car if you're under 25

I rent a lot.  I'm a Hertz President's Circle member, meaning I rent >40x per year.

For major car rental companies, only a select few will rent to under 25 people, Enterprise being the most prominent.  Yes, they will charge you extra.

My advice is to find a local car dealership or smaller car rental company.  In Philadephia there is a car dealer called Central City Toyota.  They sell cars and rent them too.  When I was under 25 they would rent me a car but charge me only $5 per day extra.  That's not bad, and a lot less than what Enterprise would have charged.  So open up your Yellow Book and see what the locals can offer you.

You're right, and anyone under 55 shouldn't have a machine gun or suppressor.
