I dragged my Outlook Express icon to where another icon was and now my OE icon is gone? Gone!

You either deleted the icon, in which case it will be in the Recycle bin, OR you have them stacked one on top of another.
Try right-clicking on your desktop, select Arrange icons, and choose any option you like. |

right click on the desktop(where there isn't an icon) go to arrange icons try one of those.
or if the option is there you can right click and do line up icons i think on older versions of windows |
