When I stepped out of the jetway into the terminal at Anchorage I was greeting by two stuffed bears, a Brown Bear and a Polar Bear.
They served notice that when you step off the airplane you've entered the food chain. |

Well, I guess it is if you don't get CNN. I'm pretty sure it got national news coverage at the time, not much, but then they never give Alaska much time, even when we burn 6.5 million acres - just but a quickie blurb. |

6.5 million acres and a couple "cabins" made from plywood - nothing compared to what happens when a few thousand acres burn in Southern California - million dollar houses make headlines. 6.5 million acres is four times the size of Delaware - the whole thing four times over! Spooky |
