Curious. Thinking of buying this as a replacement part for my rifle to stick in my parts box in case mine ever breaks or wears out.

yes there will probably be a difference.  that being said, you will replace 10 or 20 barrels before you wear out an SKS bolt, and I would buy new springs, firing pins, and extractors instead.
