Last Saturday I took a six hour NRA Range Safety Officer course at my Fish & Game Club. Six people attended. Of the six, I knew four. The fifth person, who I did not know, was known by two of the others who were there.

Then there was the sixth dude. Mid-to-late 20s, dressed slightly preppy, clean-shaven, short haircut, kind of effeminate, didn't say hardly a word. To the best of my knowledge, nobody knew who he was.

I'm going to do more checking, but I suspected pretty quickly that he was a MMM/Brady (etc) plant.

What say you?

Did he hold the pistol with his thumb and index finger, with pinky extended while saying, "Eeeeeeewwww!"?

Actually, his appearance and the fact that you don't know him don't exactly say much about his political beliefs, at least in my book.  Much of what you described would describe me as well, except for the 'effeminate' part.

what do they have to gain by attending a SAFETY course?

Jumping to conclusions.

What would have been his purpose in attending the course?  Did he disrupt activities?

He could just have been a newbie (i.e. NY Transplant) that was interested.

Was it the "effeminate" thing that prevented you from talking to him, ar was it just because he wasn't already in your "clique"?

The point is, why are you asking US if he was an anti-gunner, instead of asking him? We weren't there.

Don't know. RSOs run small-time shooting events and "moderate" our local indoor range.

Beats me what they might gain from it. But I find it interesting that nobody knew him and he didn't say jack during the whole six hours.

Because the other thread (www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=375293) got me thinking about this again.

Nobody treated him any differently. He just sat there and watched as we discussed things.

The "effeminate" comment was borne out of his preppy shirt and mannerisms.

I pose this question to see if anyone else has experienced something similiar (possible anti-gun plants in clubs and such).

This description perfectly fits me (well, I hope not effeminate...but maybe the guys who wear Real Tree to work every day would say I am) every day of the week.  I was the most yuppy looking guy in my recent Hunter Safety course.  I ain't no Brady plant and I just wish I could afford more evil stuff.  I was just there to qualify to get a hunting liscence (something we have to do in Cali).

I even showed up both mornings with a latte.

You 5 other guys should have drawn down on him, thrown him to the ground, administered a few compliance kicks to the torso  then conducted a full body search to see if he was wearing a wire.

So you're saying that anytime you see someone at the range that you don't know, he's
a plant from the VPC?

Your tinfoil hat is even too tight for this place I'm afraid.......

so you're  saying  that he could be a anti-gun person, because he didn't look like the rest of you, dirty and unkept with possible personal hygine issues?

Good grief man!!!!  Were you wearing your tinfoil hats?  He could have been reading all your minds and taking that information back to the evil MMM/Brady laboratory back at HQ!!!!

Oh great!
