This is the place to go if you like ice cream!  They add the ingredients you want while you wait, and they have a huge selection of flavors.  I think I'm going to get fat trying them all. I had to try a sample of their wasabi and ginger flavor, I don't recommend that one.

Has anyone else been to one?

Just took the family there tonight. Great ice cream and a real treat for the little girl. A half a gallon box isn't much fun. But a trip to the ice cream shop...

That place sucks. Stand in line for 30 minutes and then get raped at the cash register. All while they sing gay little songs and play in your ice cream. No thanks.

The butter fat is much higher than the typical store bought ice cream, and higher than the premium ice creams such as Dreyer etc. This is a true cardiac food at it's best, if you eat too much of this stuff you're going to get a cardiac.

Great. Now ice cream stands have gone "Star Bucks". Fuck that.  We've got some excellent local family owned ice cream shops. I'll stick with them.

I've eaten there once in a while. The damm things sure are popping up everywhere, though.

Now, if they're so damm expensive, there's only one reasonable thing you can do:

Open a franchise!

I really do not like Cold Stone all that much.  My city has an ice cream store "Dewar's" that has been in business since 1911.  It is by far the best ice cream I have ever had and what I judge all others by.

I like it simply because my favorite ice cream flavor is Butter Pecan, but I HATE pecans.  They make the Butter flavor ice cream and add the pecans later upon request.  NO PECANS PLEASE!!!

No thanks!

Last time I went to the Marble Slab in Carrollton, my brother got a sample of something. When he asked for another sample, the fella behind the counter asked for the sample spoon back! My brother, dumbfounded, gave it back, and the fella used that same spoon in the communal ice cream!

I'll never go back there again.

Inside Edition just had a little blurb about Coldstone... they came up with 5 new flavors this month for National Ice Cream Month (July). One of them was "Wasabi Ginger"

WTF?

My Coldstone has wasabi ice cream.  Blue Bell doesn't exactly carry that flavor.  It's the most horrible thing I've ever tasted, but oddly enough it's very comforting that they do crazy stuff like that.  That said, I've got multiple outlets of at least three of the same type of chains here:  Maggie Moo's, Cold Stone, and Marble Slab.  My kids love Cold Stone, though my personal favorite is Maggie Moo's, since their low carb/sugarfree stuff tastes really good compared to everyone else's.

Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas...

PT Barnum had some interesting observations about the general public.  Wasabi and Ginger??? guess things haven't changed all that much.
