A curse is wishing some 'end' upon someone, as in the curse of the mummys' tomb, a spell, "go fuck yourself" or "eat shit".
Cussing is using what are generally socially unacceptable words without wishing the act on someone. One usually cusses when one gets Garand thumb: "OW...SHIT!", or "I'm a fuckin' idiot". Incidently, my sources tell me that the word 'fuck' is actually an abreviation of 'For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge'. Made a crime by the English throne to keep the Kings' troops out of the brothels and from contracting debilitating STDs therein. YMMV.  |
