I watched some of his antics today (levitation) and I know it's not real but how did he do it? The crowd reaction seemed pretty genuine.

I watched that last week, looks cool, how does he do it?

We all know they are just illusions, but I'll be damned if I
know how he made that chick levitate.

The human candle on Freemont street in Vegas was pretty wild too.

Surely the crowd isn't in on it :)

Just like the David Blaine stuff..  It isn't hard to make a levitation of a few inches look real, which is what he does on the street.

Then they take the footage and adjust it to make it look like he went a foot or more off the ground.

Well how in the hell does someone manage to levitate even a fingernail's width off the ground if you don't mind me asking?

I had the same question. SO what if it's only a few inches?

That's reasonable, but he was walking around the "actor". No one else was close enough to do anything to assist in the illusion and he stayed moving. In addition, there were several times he levitated himself.

I was talking about making himself levitate, he does it everywhere, in a narrow hallway, in parks, on the street, even on an escalator and he sometimes gets up like 2-3 feet off the ground.

It is called a Balducci levitation...  Like I said before, it is easy to make it look like you are a few inches off the floor from the proper viewing point...  But as was uncovered in the David Blaine stuff, they come back in and attach cables to his ass to make him go higher after the footage with the crowd was shot.

I am pretty interested in magic (Illusion), I watched his show one evening last week, I won't be watching it again, too much cheating with the camera.

When you watch most magaicians on TV they use slight of hand, and mechanical props to do their illusions, tha majority of his stuff was done with camera trickery, low brow stuff, you could call it junk magic.

That fake levitation stuff is easy.  I do it all the time to freak people out but I tell them right off that it's fake.  You just have to stand at the right angle and lift yourself with your toes on the foot opposite the people watching.  It looks pretty good.

Thats the type of stuff David Blaine used to do. This guy levitates 2-3 feet in the air. Its not camera angles on this one. The only explanation possible is camera editing.
Anyone seen the one where he walks up the side of a brick wall?

It's all camera editing and preselected spectators/assistants.  They're illusionists, they're creating the illusion that they're doing magic infront of stangers, they're fooling tv viewers not random people.

David Blaine is a better showman for starters.

David Blaine's "act" was good because he seemed like just some weirdo on ths street. Criss Angel looks a little more like someone doing an act even though he tries to play it off as him being just an "everyman".
