I ended up going sans optics. Mine looks pretty much like the one used for the AR15.com logo in the top right corner.

Specifically:

pre-ban lower
A2 upper
14.5" M4 barrel w/ Kurt's 1.5" hider
4 position buttstock (Colt, not the newer, longer one that is often marketed as an M4 buttstock)
M4 handguards

ooooooh, i gotta get a dig camera!

i've got a pretty one!

started as a pre-ban eagle arms hb carbine.(waited a LOT of tables in '92 to buy it!)

replaced parts with:
-colt 4 position stock- tube matches rec finish closely
-colt flat-top upper rec w/colt carry handle- finish also matches lower closely(lt gray). had an m-4 marked upper, but it didn't match, and was rough in a couple of spots.
-wilson's heavy m-4 config barrel. 1/9tw. cut under 16" with the a2 flash hider welded on to equal 16.1 oal. hard to tell the diff from a 14.5". just about 1/2" more. i got it from j&t. first one i saw, years ago.
-colt a2 pistol grip and larger m-4 hand guards.
-colt side sling adaptor
-jp trigger
-have a colt c-mor, a m500a light, and just ordered an nsn reflex. want to get a ta01nsn in the future.
-have a cobray launcher which i have extensively re-worked to resemble an m203. had to make the cutaways in the hand guard ferrule to fit. have both sights, including adaptor for tangent sight to fit detachable carry handle. will get a real 203 someday... and an m-16 to turn into an m-4, for that matter.
-have an m9 bayo, with a spacer, so it will fit on longer barrel.
-gi "silent" sling
-and i collect military equipment, so i have all the gear to dress up like gi-joe if i like... i really just have it all on a mannequin, i'm not that odd.[%|]

looks beeyootieful, shoots better!

i forgot- finishing touch: 3 bushmaster teflon mags, for show.[8D]

a little help- i would like to locate a spare m9 bayo grip, to cut-up to use as a spacer- anyone?

also- i have noticed (in pics) some operators with what appears to be a 1/3 longer "silent" sling. a2 version is just barely long enough, and i dont want to put a tac sling on it. any ideas on if it exists and where to get one? have asked several active duty military folks with no concrete results.- thanks.

My CavArms, uh... ummm... Cav-4. Cavalry Arms stockless lower, pinned open CAR stock, Bushy M4 upper, CavComp permanently attached to make legal bbl length. Accurate, not too loud, and super SUPER light wieght.

Pre-ban Bushmaster lower, 16" Bushmaster M4 upper, M4 Handguards, M4 buttstock (not the real one, I prefer the feel of the fake), and the stowaway grip that bushmaster carrys(I like having the spare parts assessabley). Soon I will have an M16 so I will probably make it into a real M4 at that point.

I have a Bushmaster M4A3 model 14.5" telestock, LE and Government use only marked.

Have a tactical sling and a Ase Utra made suppressor with CQB markings[the only one with those markings).

Im waiting for the Knights RAS, was delayed after the guy who was bringing it had to go on a business trip.

I'm going to be putting a pre-ban version together soon with a 14.5" upper from Bushmaster with a permanently attached Phantom flash suppressor. I haven't decided whether to go A2 or A3 yet. I will probably go with the new 6-position Fiberite telestock from Bushmaster unless someone here talks me into a better one in the next few days. Also, should I use that handguards that come with the upper, or get the others (where can I get them)? Thanks for all of the photos, descriptions, and help.

Since when? A 37mm flare launcher isn't considered a grenade launcher. It's only a no no in California for a completely different set of reasons (they're nuts).

Man, you guys had to start this thread while I was out of town didn't you. Fortunately I was able to get internet access this second week I've been gone. All I have is this crappy 386 public access computer and limited time so I can't really go through and pic out pics to post.

Here is the link to my webshots pics. The "My Oly M4" pic and the "blurry road kill" pics are my rifles. Most of the rest are just cool pics I've picked up along the way. There are some cool pics of me on there with a full auto Colt SMG. I can't divulge where I got that from, though. [;)]

Hey BoomBoom,

I like your setup and would like to do the same using my Colt SP1. I am thinking of getting the preban version of the Bushy M4 upper, a Bushmaster Modular Accessories System AR Flat Top Rear Sight and the reflex.

Do you like your setup?
