I am thinking about buying a pair of the 804's.
They feel comfortable and durable but are they worth $75.00?

They are as a general rule tough. But shoes are a personal thing. My 804's work well but having some arch trouble with them. But I've always had this problem. Being a kind of a big boy I'm hard on shoes when I run. They should last, and $75 is better than what I got.

Oh make sure they are not built in China, New Balance is starting to have shoes made by slave labor, I mean socialist utopia, but check, my 804s were made in the USA.

They're a good shoe.

During vacation, I met many people walking the Pacific Coast Trail (2650 miles, Mexico boarder to Washington), and most were wearing New Balance. There are other good brands, but NB was preferred.

I thought they were good shoes.
It's just hard to spend that much money on something other than guns.

They are great shoes and they will last longer than most of the other brands. Spend the $75 now and you won't have to replace your shoes in 8 months. You don't want to be at the range in bare feet.

NB in general are the most comfortable sports shoes around.

I have the same shoes they were 85 here in downstate NY. They are very comfortable,if you are to buy a pair of shoes I would go with the NB 804.

They're very comfortable - alot more than the 803s I had last year. I've had mine for about 4 months now and do a daily 3 mile walk and they've held up very well.

Shoes are definitely a personal thing. The NB 804s seem to be good shoes, though I don't wear them. I've worn NB's 829 for a few months now and love them. I started wearing NB with the 825 (liked it), 826 (loved it) and 827 (liked it about as much as the 825). Of course, I'm primarily a road and track runner; don't run trails because, darn it, I hate getting my shoes dirty [;)]. What I like about the 820-series shoes is that they're relatively inexpensive (around $75), light and fit me (wide forefoot, midfoot striker yet moderately overpronate so I wear prescription orthotics).

Go to a specialized running shoe store. They'll have the best people to help you chose the shoe that's best for you and the type of running you do. They might not have the best prices, but they'll have the best advice.

BTW, I also wear adidas, Asics, Brooks and Mizuno training and racing flats. While they all have models I can wear for different occasions, the NB 829 is my current all-around favorite.

New Balance have ALWAYS been made overseas, even the so-called "Made in U.S.A." shoes were made there. The patterns were cut out and then shipped over here for final sewing and assembly and from what I understood on the news awhile back, the so-called "Made in U.S.A." New Balance shoes are being phased out in favor of all overseas products. Not that many places carried the "Made in U.S.A." shoes anyhow; L.L. Bean and one or two local places. The rest were made in korea.

I have 3 different models of New Balance shoes because their standard D width is comfortable on my EEE wide feet. They must be cut WIDE.

I've got a pair of 608's.I'd highly recommend them,they're extremely comfortable(I wear boots all day)The tag in mine does say made in China.Amigo

I've got a pair of 1600's and love them. Swear my feet weight less when I wear them.

The lovely bride ran marathons. NB was all she wore. She used to go to Cozumel and spend weeks running around the island getting ready. Then the first thing after the run, she's up for a beer and a cigarette. She talked me into it.

That is interesting, I have a pair of MX2000's and they have worn faster than other shoes. They are both comfortable for running and regular use, but have worn out too fast for me to buy another pair.

I may have to give the 804's a try.

just bought some 804 AT's for $65. Always on the lookout for NB's on sale as 4E's are the only thing that fits.

The Made in USA label may mean about as much as it does with bicycles. I was told to claim Made in USA all that was necessary was for the frame to be painted in this country.

I've been wearing their old school style ("Jazz") for some years now. Really comfortable and they only cost $20. Now that I want some serious running shoes, should I look into the expensive NB's or stick with Saucony ?

I picked out a pair of new balance shoes from a cabelas catalog about four months ago.Their OK. But I feel about an inch taller and am always ready to fall over sideways when I wear them.

Have worn the 803 style for about a year now and rate them higher than any other sport shoe I have ever worn (Nike, Reebok, K-Swiss).

My step son only wears NB cause his foot is wide and he has yet to destroy a pair (he is 7).

They are good shoes for the money and all I will ever wear but my wife wears the Saucony. TEHO I suppose.

I thought everything was made in China these days (except BM and RRA ARs of course)
