I use Mozilla and it handles frames differently than Internet Explorer.  When I went to http://www.magpul.com I noticed their home page was spread out over multiple screens with tiny lines interspersed.   I did a “Select All”, “Copy”  and did a “Paste Special” in MS Word as plain text….

Much to my surprise,  I now had seven pages (!)  of “hot-button” words and phrases that would be guaranteed to trip every pattern recognition alarm in systems like Echelon.

You can duplicate this with MS Internet Explorer.   When you first land on their home page,  this microscopic text is invisible as black 1 point font on a black background.  But doing a  “Select All”, “Copy”  and then a “Paste Special” in MS Word as plain text….same results.

What’s up with this?

I always thought that gobs of words like that were used to get more hits from search engines.

They are using a cheap way to get their site ranked higher. Most search engines will ban them for it.

Now it makes sense.  

Matter of fact,  I did a search on that phrase and the first website that came back promises you:

But I find out,  keyword spamming actually works against a search engine rating of a web site.  The more sophisticated engines look at this "metatag" information and match it against what's actually on the site itself,  and if there's a low correlation, that site gets pushed down towards the bottom of the results of a search.

It was just such a freaky list of words...made me want to go put on my tinfoil hat.

That list makes a rather strange "keyword" list.
