A Sad Day - AR15.COM

On July 7, 2001 at 10:00am on a sunny summer day, my Fathers guardian angel came to him, cradled him in his arms, and carried him to stand before God. It was a great day for my Dad and a sad one for his family. He served his country during the Korean war and then served his family the rest of his life. He taught me about honor, love and courage. He fought his last battle against cancer most valiantly, but the enemy was overwelming.
He taught me how to shoot and appreciate my freedom. He taught me the value of friends and hard work. I love my Dad and I will miss him. The world is less, now that he is gone.

As my Mother lay dying of cancer on Sept. 7, 1993, I comforted both her and myself with this and the following verses fron Chapter 14 of the Gospel of John.

You will see your Father again one day, as we will all see our departed loved ones who are faithful unto the End.

May the Lord cause His light to shine upon your family in this hour of loss, He has promised, after all, to wipe away every tear.

You have my sympathy. I lost an uncle on July 6th to cancer, A Marine & Korean War Vet.

My deepest sympathies to your family. I too just lost my father, and I understand the hole you feel right now. My thoughts are with you. Go easy, it gets better.

Yes, it is a sad day. I am sorry for your loss. It is a shame to lose a good man. The fact you miss him so much means he was a good father and a good mentor for you. I can tell by your tone he had to be very proud of you and the job he did raising you. Best wishes. It will always hurt greatly, but it gets easier.

I too am sorry to hear of your loss. You may take heart that you were fotunate enough to have a father worthy of your love, respect, and kind words. Some of us will never know such a father.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your father.

I do not know where mine is? He disappeared about 15 years ago with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s (not two of his buddies). Last we knew he was in the system down in the San Jose, CA area.

Thank you very much. It is an honor to be one of your brothers in arms. As I sit here, most of my entire family is in the house. We are filled with happiness and sorrow. We will lay him to rest tomorrow. Then in true polish tradition, we will toast him and drink to his health. ALOT!
After all, In heaven there is no beer. Thats why we drink it here.
