I've been looking for a pre ban for some time now.Well I found a Colt HBAR Mod. R6600K for $1500.It has not been fired. It is NIB.I would like a 1 in 9 twist. Is the gun worth the $ and how can I find out about the twist. The paper work that came with it dosen't mention twist.I would like your inputs before I buy. Thanks for your help shooters.

Go for it!!!!!!  Barrel twist markings are on the top of the barrel forward of the front sight base.  For example, markings are stamped like this: 1/7 or 1/9.

Shop around a bit more and buy a used gun.  $1500 isn't bad for NIB though.  Twist rate is marked on the barrel just behind the flash suppressor.  Not many Colts came from the factory with 1/9, most have a 1/7 twist.  The faster twist is better for the bigger match bullets anyway.

The 6600 HBar is one of my favorite. For referrence the 2001 Standard Catalog of Firearms values it at $2,500.00 new in box.

I believe many are 1/9 but they are marked as noted above. the #6600 is a great AR, do it if you can.
