I'm Generation Why, so I guess I'm not really in the demographic of your question, but I love Sinatra, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, a whole ton of the old classic New Orleans Jazz, Big Bad Voodoo Daddies, and several of those you mentioned.
This is, of course, in addition to my addiction to trance, house, and techno, Alice Cooper, grunge, Johnny Cash, and They Might Be Giants. |

At 42, I'm outside of the "Gen X" thing, but I listen to everything new and old. Many of my friends are stuck in the "Pink Floyd", "Led Zepplin", "Areo Smith" era. Me, I like everthing from Sinatra to Bob Marley to Marilyn Manson.
Being a country boy from the Old Dominion, believe it or not, I don't listen to Country, but I love NASCAR. When I moved to Chicago, I was suprised my co-workers listen to Country, enjoy Hockey, but hate NASCAR, even though they have a track right here. Go figure! BBossman |

I listen to everything.
From Frankie To Something Corpoate. I watch everything From Casablanca and Catch-22 to Dawn of the Dead 04' and Spiderman 2. somedays I feel like dressing in a pinstripe suit, somedays I feel like putting on Khaki shorts and a t-shirt with profane language on it. I'm generation everything :P |

Im pretty young and big band and jazz type stuff is what i listen to most of the time.

One of THE best Christmas albums EVER ! I've always loved big band and other old time music. It has "life and soul" to it that the stuff nowadays can't even dream to think about. |

Im a trumpet player myself. I bought Gordon Goodwins CD/DVD Swingin for the Fences about 2 weeks ago. Wayne Bergeron's lead playing is amazing. His CD is great too. |

I listen to some Rat Pack stuff, and I absolutely adore Glenn Miller stuff (especially "Kalamazoo" as featured in his film, "Orchestra Wives"). Definitely good stuff. Big Band people had class that some of today's performers lack. I like their touch of finesse. Just listen to Billie Holliday's "Strange Fruit." Always gives me chills. Miller's "In the Mood" makes me want to get up and boogie.

Thats my dads favorite. Oddly enough my wife likes Sinatra (go figure for an Italian) and for myself Warner Cable has a Big Band Channel that I listen to more than any of the other. Try it. |

I'm 38 and I love standards. I listen mostly to Sinatra and Harry Connick Jr. I own Sinatra's Capitol Years recordings (21 CDs) and his complete Reprise recordings (20 CDs). If anyone wants to trade CDrs send me a PM.

There are a lot of modern guys player the "gypsy jazz" django style. Who remembers the mid 90s?
There was a huge resurgence of swing music. Brian Setzer even charted with his rendition "Jump Jive an' Wail" (AKA "Drunk drivin', hit a whale") for a good long time (for good reason, it's a great tune and disc) and Tony Bennett had a huge career boost because of it. Since then it's kind of returned to its background position... Frankly I always liked it (and I was born in the early 70s), I love the vocals and the production on the band albums. |

When I was a teenager, I worked at a resort that had a ballroom and an 18 piece orchestra. The music grows on you, especially when its live and high quality.
