I'm curious on how many rounds go thrown thru it because I have a mini in .45ACP

I can't find my "Ammo Diet" file that I keep on most of my firearms... Since my little pony wasn't new when I bought it I'm not keeping an Ammo Diet file on that one. The Bersa Thunder 380 (Duo-Tone model) was a VERY fun little pistol, IMHO, and someday I may buy another to beat the crap out of it...
It makes for a good little CCW gun if cost is a factor. Most of the ammo I've shot through it were Winchester Whitebox 380 (Notoriously underpowered), Obscure Russian 380/9mmKurz ammo, WOLF 380, American Eagle, Federal HydraShoks (The Bersa LOVED to eat it like Candy), MagTech, MagSafe, CCI, and a few others... However, I didn't ***REALLY*** start to crank rounds through her until a fellow Arfcommer (
) here got me into TONS of old used reloading gear for dirt cheap!!! I then started cranking out thousands of .380 FMJ practice rounds...
The figures were somewhere around 14,000 to 15,000 rds total (If I find the file later I'll post it...), and it had gone through quite a few spare parts...
Basically, After the first 5000rds I had to replace the Firing Pin Retaining C-Clip, around 8000rds I had to replace the Trigger Return/Reset Spring (snapped), and then around the 14,000 rd mark I had dropped it once, and the CAST steel slide-safety switch had snapped off partially... All the parts were replaced by a certified gunsmith shop (Alhman's in Southern MN is a certified Bersa-Llama Repair Shop), and it was all FREE under warranty (it has only a 1 year warrantee, but they kept replacing parts for free even 6 months after the warrantee... After that happened I got fed up with it breaking down on me...
I sold it for $100 (including CCW holster, 2xMag Carrier, and a total of 3 Mags) to a co-worker who lived in a shit-hole apartment in the Ghettos of Midway... (He needed it more than I did)
About 500rds after I had sold it the gun (according to my coworker), the trigger reset/return spring snapped again, and it failed to fire and was making light primer strikes. This is about 14,000 to 15,000 rounds total through the gun, the finish on the slide & frame were worn out like a $5 prostitute... The barrel was STILL incredibly accurate though... I told my buddy to take it to Alhman's, and they repaired it for him for FREE stating it was 'under warranty' even though it was then about 12 months past the warrantee... They wound up replacing the Firing pin (causing light primer strikes, cuz it was worn out), and also replaced the trigger spring...
Since these repairs it has seen about 3000rds, and is still limping along strong on its last leg. The finish was almost GONE on the slide, there were noticeable wear marks on the frame as well, but she kept shooting... I think I'm going to buy a nice CZ-83 for my next little 380 Auto pistol... Either that or a nice Colt Gov't 380... In the meantime I'm going to finish my AR-15, likely buy a Stainless Ruger GP-100 w/ 3" barrel, and then maybe start saving up some $$ for either an M1Garand, 50 BMG, or Savage FP model in .308 or .300WinMag.
I was fed up with the Bersa breaking on me, so I took my $100 plus my next paycheck out to a gunshop, and managed to find 'my little pony' (used) on a BIG sale for only ~$440 after taxes... They threw in a cheap-ass Fobus paddle holster that broke on me within a few months, got a Safariland and haven't looked back. My Little Pony has seen ~1500rds since I bought it, and I hope to put another 1000 to 2000 rds through it this summer! I have to crank out some more ammo though because I've now got 1.5lbs of powder, and enough components to make ~2300rds of .45 ACP ammo!
