I've already trained my nine-year-old to respond to such questions, regardless of the source, with, "You'll have to ask my dad."  Be it about firearms, discipline or the color of our carpets.  I've told him no matter what circumstances he faces (i.e. suspension from school) he WILL NOT be in any trouble and to immediately contact me or his mother.

I had to train my wife some years ago.  I walked into a business where she knew the manager (I had never met the guy).  He mentioned, "Your wife says you own quite a few guns."  I responded that I used to, but sold them all.  Went straight home and began lesson one.  You just never know.

My doctor is a past president of Ducks Unlimited and an avid hunter.  He has pro-gun pictures and posters in all of his patient rooms.  Every time I see him we talk about his latest hunting trip.  A few years ago he told the AMA to stick it.  He thinks they are an absolutely worthless group.
