Looking for something in the 21-32 inch range for under $1600.  I saw a few Westinghouse Flat Panels at Best Buy today....a 27" Westinghouse for $949 but I'm game for a bigger TV for under $1600.

IIRC, I saw a FUNAI 32 inch at Best Buy for $1400.  What Flat Panel TV do you have, how much did it cost and what would be the best for the price range I'm looking for?

Is $949 a good deal for a 27" flat panel?

Vizio 30" flat screen HDTV/computer monitor also. I think it's around $1200-1300 at Sam's Club.

Anyone else have a flat panel TV yet?

Last December, I tried every LCD TV over 22" and under 30" and $2000 that Best Buy sold. You may wonder why I tried all of them; well, they all died on me in short order, some in multiples. No two died the same way.  My local Best Buy was getting sick of the sight of me; I was bringing back about two sets a week for a month.

Finally ended up with a 44" LCD projection unit that has worked great. A little bigger than I wanted, but no problems.

Are there underlying problems with the LCD TV's?

I don't hink so. It just seems that QA with the less expensive units is not very good.

The Dell's might be worth checking out. I don't use their TV's but I have a pair of their 20" 2005FP LCD panels attached to my computer that have been problem free.
