Imagine the outrage if a conservative ad showed Ted Kennedy driving drunk up the steps of the Capitol and plowing over the President.

For the same reason that the terrorists can kill anyone they want and behave any way they want and nobody pays attention. Yet some jackass makes up a story about some soldiers flushing a darn book and the whole bloody world riots.

Whatever our position, whatever our stand, whatever a conservative tries to do is hideously wrong and evil. Anything is better than us winning.

Remember, though, liberals (politicians and the press) only win if they succeed in making conservatives feel guilty even when the conservatives have done nothing wrong. Maintain moral certainty and you can ignore their wailing. (See "Sanction of the Victim").
