I've seen a few for sale in the US. Since they are not street legal, they can be imported and sold. The only place you can drive them is on a track. Price loaded is about $50K. The $67.5K quoted in the article is New Zealand dollars.

Street legal or not, if you drive it like the STARBOYZ (FTP) you can get away with it.

I am enthusiastically downloading all the top gear episodes I can find from finalgear.com.

Most amusing so far has been the one where their special guest hypnotised one of the car reviewers so that he couldn't remember how to drive a car.

This week's episode apparently involved a Land Rover's attempts to escape from a Challenger Tank cross-country.

Yes it is. Just not in the US.

You can't even drive a tank in the US, for crying out loud.

If the new ones aren't street leagl, it wouldn't take much at all to make it that way.
Basically you would have to get past little BS, like how long the battery can last under it's own power...shit like that.

There are lots of ATV's that are street legal, it's not like splitting ATOM's  HAHA...get it...

Must....have....atom...

Seriously, is this thing available in the US? Is there an importer you can get one from, or do you have to have it imported yourself?

It seems people have conflicting views about weather or not it is street legal in the US. Is it or not? I can't imagine that it would take much to make it street legal.

Where can I get more info about getting one of these things in the US?

Unless you're going to be trailering it to Road America I wouldn't bother. There is no way that thing is street legal here.

Why not? What are the requirements that a car has to have to be street legal?
