Jumped the shark a long time ago. I have not seen any of the "new old" ones. I have no desire to do so.

I see grown men playing and peddling toys and adults getting dressed up to go see a movie. I feel for them.

It's just a movie..I can't understand grown people dressing up in character and waiting in line for a friggin' week to see it.

I'll see it in a week or two, for free (room mate works at theater), when the crowds have subsided a little.

I agree. It's pretentious, overrated trash. And fawning over baby Vader who's going to grow up and kill more people than Adolf Hitler(but will nevertheless be forgiven in the end because he loves his son Luke) is completely disgusting.

it's become some of a counter religion.

I grew up in the 70s, I remember seeing the first one in the theaters.   That's enough for me, really dont care for the series.   OTH I didnt like the LOTR movies either.    Dont plan to see this star wars any time soon.   Maybe when it comes on tv.

wow, i am suprised to see the response, but glad, i thought i was the only one that didnt get it, not a big dress up fan myself. what about other big budget cult fils, isnt LOTR next?

I also grew up in the '70s and was hooked on Star Wars.  I enjoy the series, but I don't consider myself a Star Wars geek (6 on a 10 scale).  Like most fans, I was disappointed at the last two movies, but from everything I've heard and seen, this one will more than make up for the last two failures.  I'll be seeing it tomorrow.

I love them, I don't take them (or my self) to serious, and i have fun wathing them.  It is just entertainment. seeing it in t-14.5hrs

In England some people register their religion as Jedi Knight or something

I find your lack of faith ... disturbing.

I am a SW fan and I'm getting sick of how Ep 3 is being hyped in a commercial aspect.  Star Wars on Kellogg's Corn Flakes boxes.  Star Wars M&Ms.  It's like everything (within the last 4 weeks) has been endorsed by Star Wars!

If people accuse Lucas of selling out to the fuzzy toy marketing gimmick for Ep 6, he's sold out to the MARKET EVERYTHING gimmick for Ep 3!

Check snopes.
There was a thing going around that if enough people wrote Jedi under religion on the last US census, it would become an official religion.
It was ignored by .gov.

I know what you mean,

I want to take my 3 year old to see the Stormtroopers standing in line, he's into robots now and thinks stormtroopers are robots.

modern star wars fan = toddler in adult clothing

You guys are too "macho".  Not that I would wear the stuff out in public, I did linger around the Darth Vader helmet I saw at Wal-Mart.  It would make a nice conversation piece, especially with an AR-15 next to it.

As far as the movie, I think they are great.  But I'm by far not a critic of most movies.  They are for entertainment.  Too many people take them too seriously.  Those people should lighten up and realize your only gonna live about 75 year then your gone.  Have fun now before you regret it when you can't anymore.

And you all better watch out before Darth Vader does his Jedi mind choke on you!!!

Sheesh people, it's a movie, entertainment, nothing more.
I like Star Wars and will see it this weekend.
I bet those who are whining about it would go see it if it had zombies, extreme violence, graphic sex and the guns from "HEAT".

People with hollow lives have to fill the void with something.  Some choose sci-fi costumes and pretend laser swords.  Some go straight to the midget porn.

I'm sure the teachers, whose class they're asleep in, will agree.

Swing by McDonald's on the way home and show them the fry machine they'll run in a few years.

ETA: I'm just kidding, BTW.

Sci-Fi Channels reconstituted "Battlestar Galactica" is 10 times better in plot & character. Don't even get me started with "Firefly" I'd take a few more episodes of that rather than any more Lucas SHIT.

HERE'S A GOOD REVIEW of "STAR WARS - Revenge of yaddaa yadda yadda"

I liked the ORIGINAL 3 movies - not enough to play dressup, though.  The "spechul" enhanced editions are crap, and I lost interest in it after they came out.  I caught episodes 1 and 2 on video, and will rent 3 when it comes out.

Lucas did a spectacular job of fucking up a good thing.

I have a tiny bit more respect for Lucas and the adults who get whipped up about the STar Wars movies than I do for the adults who go out of the go**amn minds over Harry Potter and the Blah, Blah, Blah.

Aww now, be nice. Aside from being my oldest daughters birthday, its time spent with my kids. More then most parents seem to want to do these days. They will go to school tomorrow, and yes be tired but they will remember "that night out with dad" for many years to come.

True.  Most parents would just drop their kids off and let them find a ride home after the movie.
