I can't frickin wait, I'm stoked! |
are you INSANE??? i'm not sure i'll be seeing it in the first MONTH, let alone night!
i'm gonna wait for the reviews here, as well... |
The entire technology wing of my company is bailing out so we can see it on opening day.
Waiting for reviews, and then will probably wait until it comes out for rental...
I have a lot of patience, and most importantly, CHEAP |
I have friends that work at a local theater. They are both projectionists. I will be among the first in the audience.
Are you kidding? It will Nerdom 2K5 there. It'll be like a Nerdgasm. |
I'm seein it in about 9 hours.
the perks of working a t a movie theader |

I'll wait...my room mate works at a theater, so I'll see it for free...but not on opening night!
Actually, I *should* have just gone in with him to watch the build up. When does it open, btw? This week??? |

1st showing,
Does this Stormtrooper uniform make my butt look fat? |
Going to the midnight showing. It was my girlfriend's idea...she even bought the tickets already.
It should be a fun evening/night. Scott |
My youngest is going with his church yout group. (yep the youts no h) . Had his new super lightsaber out at the camp last weekend and they had their night fight with the fancy lights and sounds. Said one of the kids whose parents wer in the hippy group tried to swipe it it. He carught him running away with it and carried him back.
"I hate my parents, they won't let me play with guns or swords" My kid is learning to laugh at hippies without any help from me. |
I'm wearing my Jar Jar Binks Underoos on the outside of my pants!
There's a movie theater in Anchorage? Wow.
Um, duh. |
HAR HAR . There is one here too , but there is no way in Hell rusty is going to get it on opening day .
I think I'll give it a week. I'd see it opening night, but I really hate standing in line for an hour (or so).
Problem is, it's hard to see a movie in a trilogy if you haven't seen the original, or the following ones.
I saw Episode 1 when it came out in '99 and didn't get it. |
Not for $1,000,000. I'll go later when the frenzy has died and no one wearing a costume is in the theater.
Aww, dude, that's the fun part. When Episode II was released, I was there on the 3rd day it came out. I got to sit next to some 375-lb "Jedi" named "Quantar" or something like that. He had a lightsaber too! (It was some plumbing pipe with some buttons JB Welded onto it). He was fucking hilarious. Looking at him was almost as enjoyable as the movie. |
I have my tickets for the midnight showing. I did the same for both EI and EII, it was a good time even thought the movies were 'so-so'.
Guy at work and I are going to try for the early (lunchtime) show on Thursday. Don't have my hopes up, though.
I got my ticket for the midnight show.
Only 24 hours and 11 more minutes.... |
I got my tickets when we saw Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on opening night.
When we got to the theater at 8 for Episode 2's midnight showing, there was no one there except my buddy who got there at 7. We left him there to hold the fort while we went to the mall. No one came until 10, but they started seating then. I hope it's the same way, It didn't start to get packed until 11:30. I had to call BS on my buddy yesterday afternoon. He was telling me about how long the line was at Episode 2 and stuff..I reminded him that I was there. Since it's 2:30 am, I hope to take a nappy tomorrow afternoon so I won't fall asleep during the movie... Me and my buddy also went to the Lord of the Rings Super Tuesday, where they showed all three of the LOTR movies back to back, the extended versions of the first two and Return of the King at midnight..That was grueling, but I have the limited edition tchoschke to prove it.. |
d00d! some flicks you just GOTTA see on the big screen! i remember when i saw sw:1, uuuhhh, sw:4? the one with mark hammil, in the very beginning when that imperial cruiser comes blasting on the screen, it blew me away! just not the same on tv, even a big screen tv... |
I'm going tonight to get the tickets for the 5:30 showing on Thursday evening. I'll probably be taking 3 other kids along with my 3. I'm looking forward to it.
Got to see a "sneak preview" last night.
I've posted a quick review here in the GD forum. Security was tight. We were all checked with metal detector wands, and then each theater was scanned several times by a guy with a night vision scope. My thoughts: The Sith is the only film in the series to measure up the original Star Wars. It rocks! I'm waiting to hear what others think. (And yes, all of the nerds from my company were there.) (Myself included! ) |
My friend and I do this every time a new Star Wars movie comes out. He has the tickets already and we are seeing it tonight at the midnight showing at Southridge mall in Des Moines.
Cant WAIT!!! patsue |
That's me as well. I'll check and see if I can catch a matinee either Thursday, or Friday, or I'll try again Monday. No hurry here. Waited this long. Hate crowded movie theatres. |
Well, today he and I went to the theater. Found that the first movie time is 11:15 am. Went to a ticket kiosk and was able to purchase 4 tickets. I have a feeling this particular theater is not going to get crowded. At least I know what I'm doing for lunch tomorrow. Tampa area people: I'll be at the Westshore Mall cinema tomorrow. If you didn't know there are theaters there, there are. Upstairs just outside of Sears. They'll have 4 theaters dedicated to Star Wars. |

As of 2030hrs there were 400 people standing in line.
Some nerdlingers were dressed up in garb and fighting with those plastic lightsabers and the crowd was cheering. Some people in line were HUMMING the Star Wars Death March like imbeciles. It's going to be an interesting 1st showing! |
Meeee, Meee!!!

I saw it today. My review (taken from my blog) SPOILER WARNING
I wasn't all that fond of the beginning. It didn't tell us what was going on or where they were. It was apparently a battle (that dragged on for some time, might I add) There was a point when Yoda was leaving this Wookie-island thing and Chubacca and his dog - err Wookie friend were talking and I couldn't understand a word of it! It got really annoying because the sound was really annoying and it went on for a bit. Most every shot of Padme had her staring out a window crying, which got old quick. She died though, in a somewhat stupid way....She was apparently "medically fine" but she "didn't have the will to live" She just had two kids! She didn't have the will to live?! Not even for them? Maybe she deseved to die then. :P The guy who played Annakin had his shirt off in one scene and someone felt the need to yell "OH MY GOD HE IS SO HOT!" He wasn't bad looking, until the end where he was all burnt up and had limbs chopped off by Obi-Wan. *sniff* Poor Annakin.... The Chancellor guy was just sick when hee was being defeated by Samuel L Jackson Jackson was totally winning and then Annakin killed him and the Chancellor got all deformed and sick looking from being near-drained of life. It turned out he was the Sith lord, which I didn't know. I did nearly fall asleep at one point, but overall the movie kept me a bit occupied. It was much darker and more evil than the others I've seen and didn't have that lame annoying Jar Jar guy til the end, but he didn't say anything. (Thank God) The effects weren't as bad as I thought they'd be. Some parts it was CLEARLY a green screen or CGI though, which got semi-annoying and stupid. lol Overall, it was a decent movie - despite the total overhypeness it got and how I know people will be talking about it for a while now - which I will just have to tune out with something. |
That part was described in the crawler at the beginning. :P |
It was, but not well. I'm really glad I caught Clone Wars last Saturday night. |
