We had 105 today, but it was 109 a few miles east of here. Can you top that?

AZ/NM residents need not apply.

Can't top it right now if your temp was actually showing that on the thermo. but here in Tennessee we have this thing called h u m i d i t y, and it generally gives us a heat index well into the 100s.

All this week it has been in the mid 90s w/ 100% humidity.

It has felt like about 107 outside.

I like cold better.

Damnit DeepSky! You AZ boys always spoil our records! It ain't fair I tell ya!

Actually, I was in Manila once and it was 105 with 100% humidity. I have never felt anything like that in my life. Add to that the wall of smog and "Smokey Mountain", the 24-hour garbage dump fire, and it's no wonder they all walk around wearing surgical masks.

Deepsky, According to the news, it was 117 on Monday, with some spots as hot as 120 or so.

What blew me away was when I woke up this morning, and just happen to have on the news.  It was 6:30am and the current temperature was 93!!!!!

A coworker today said that 93 was also the overnight LOW!  Said it set a record for the highest low.

I love the heat, but DAMMMMM!!!!!!  that's HOT!

Around the DC area it gets VERY hot and humid.  A lot of the days we are up in the 90's with the humidity up in the 90's.  Add in the dew point way up there and you have an aweful day.

The humidity will kill you.  It is totally different than the heat out west.  They both suck.

In 97, I took a trip out west and in a place called Stovepipe Wells CA, this is a photo around 9-10am.  (beginning of August)

It was about 107 and humid yesterday.  The worst part was that it never did cool off.  It was still 95 when I went to bed last night around midnight.  That made it hard to sleep since I don't run the AC.

satcong, you're welcome to spend August in Death Valley or any of the Low Desert areas in SoCal. It gets as hot as AZ if not more so. Happy Independence Day! :)

It's in the 80's here on Okinawa, but the humidity is very thick.  I only have two more days to deal with it, then it's back to sunny San Diego (where it's hot and DRY)
