Got this e-mail from Burro Canyon. Just thought I'd share it with you guys.
________________________________________________________________________________________________Friends of Burro Canyon,
The Shooting Park will officially open his Wednesday on Independence
Day, July 4th. After an initial go ahead by the USFS to open on June
29th and then additional last minute issues, the Forest Service has
issued our permit effective today!.
We are planning a special flag raising ceremony at Burro Canyon on the
4th at 0930 to kick off the opening. We encourage as many of you as
possible to join us Wednesday.
At the risk of being repetitious, again, we want to thank all of you
for
your invaluable help in reopening Burro Canyon. Without your support
this would have been an impossible task. This experience proves without
doubt, the ability of those involved in 2nd amendment rights can and
will win with consistent effort. A special thank you to those few who
were able to support the range with financial assistance without which
this victory would have been impossible. To respect their privacy I
won't name them; however, we do want to publicly thank Mr. Sam Paredes
of GOC who coordinated most of this endeavor and whom the Forest
Service
came to fear (a good thing), Mr. Ed Worley of the NRA, members of the
Gun Owner's Action Commitee (GOAC), the 23.org guys, The Burro Canyon
Volunteer Range Officers Association, and those of you who helped and
also offered your help to get the ranges back into shape for reopening!
As a reminder we are extending the $100.00 yearly membership until July
31st. We encourage everyone who can join to do so in order to help us
defray expenses incurred over the last 6 months. Please e-mail us at
[email protected] to get a membership application and let us know
what format you prefer. A very big thank you to all of you who have
"re-upped" your memberships and those that have joined up for the first
time.
As we come upon the 225th anniversary of our Declaration of
Independence, let us remember that the 4th is more than BBQ's, beer and
fireworks (nothing against any of those, mind you!), and that we all
renew our efforts
to be vigilant against encroachment upon our liberties! The price of
liberty is, indeed, ETERNAL vigilance!
